The San Francisco Giants have agreed to trade Andrew McCutchen to the New York Yankees, according to a source.

According to multiple reports, the Yankees will send infielder Abiatal Avelino and another minor leaguer to the Giants.

McCutchen is batting .255 with 15 homers, 55 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 130 games this season.

He is in the final season of a six-year, $51.5 million contract he signed in March 2012.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have claimed Ryan Madson off revocable trade waivers from the Washington Nationals.

The Dodgers and Nationals will have 48 hours to work out a trade from the claiming point, which was reportedly Wednesday afternoon.

Madson has $1.36 million remaining on his contract for this season.

The Washington Nationals are getting interest from multiple teams about Gio Gonzalez, who will be a free agent after this season, according to sources.

Gonzalez has cleared trade waivers and is eligible to be dealt to any Major League team.

The left-hander is earning $12 million in the final season of his contract, meaning he's owed roughly $2 million over the balance of the year.

A waiver trade would be possible if Josh Donaldson got into some rehab games this month, but with time running out that appears unlikely.

The Toronto Blue Jays couldn't have placed Donaldson on waivers because he's yet to demonstrate that he's healthy enough to get on the field.

Donaldson, 32, is on the 60-day disabled list with a left calf injury. He has hit .234/.333/.423 with five home runs in 159 plate appearances.

The Milwaukee Brewers claimed Matt Harvey on waivers this week, but they were unable to work out a trade with the Cincinnati Reds.

The two sides had until Friday afternoon to come to an agreement.

Harvey started for the Reds against the Chicago Cubs on Friday, logging 5.1 innings. He struck out six and allowed just one run on five hits.

The Tampa Bay Rays are not expected to trade Sergio Romo.

Romo was claimed on revocable waivers, but the Rays pulled him back.

The 35-year-old will be a free agent this winter.

An unknown club has claimed Matt Harvey off revocable trade waivers.

The team would have 48 hours from when the claim was made to work out a trade with the Cincinnati Reds.

If no deal is reached, the Reds can either pull Harvey back off waivers or merely let him and the remainder of his salary go to the new team.

The Washington Nationals pulled Bryce Harper back off waivers after the Los Angeles Dodgers claimed him.

The Nationals moved veterans Daniel Murphy and Matt Adams on Tuesday as they remain out of the playoff picture.

The Dodgers reportedly claimed Harper simply as a means of blocking other contenders from adding him. Los Angeles had no intention of completing a trade for him.

The St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to acquire Matt Adams from the Washington Nationals via a waiver claim.

The Nationals are simply offloading the remainder of Adams' salary in the deal. He is owed $877,000 through the rest of the season.

Adams, 29, returns to the organization that drafted him in the 23rd round of the 2009 amateur draft.

Daniel Murphy has been claimed off revocable waivers, according to a report in the New York Post.

The New York Yankees weren't the claiming team. The Washington Nationals haven't confirmed the report.

If Murphy was claimed, the Nationals would have 48 hours to either work out a standard trade with the claiming club or allow Murphy to simply leave for nothing in return. Washington could also pull him back off waivers.

Murphy is owed roughly $4 million before he hits free agency this winter.
